Scope of works
Major expansion of existing nursery to Y6 school in the City of London to grow school from 150 to 380 pupils.
Project included: -
- Conversion of adjacent office buildings within same terrace for education over 3 years in multiple phases to allow school to continue functioning
- Upwards expansion to provide roof top learning and play areas
- Construction over Barbican tube station platforms with night working at key stages
- Provision of new teaching rooms, library, dining rooms and kitchen, multi-purpose and administration rooms on multiple levels
- New wrap care facilities enabling school to operate from 07.30 – 18.00 all year
- Multiple safeguarding, security and fire strategy checks at each phase to ensure the school could operate safely.
- New heating and ventilation plant provided for the whole school complete with air source heat pumps and HEPA air filtration
